My path to the profession of artist was very long and difficult. I was born in a large industrial town in Ukraine. In the war years the town had been completely destroyed, and no ancient house remained, there were multi-storey boxes and straight lines of new streets and avenues. But my heart was always aiming to where there was to rest gaze on. The indelible impression of travels to the sea side or to the relatives in Siberia had been expressed in a series of drawings and sketches. But the greatest event was the travel to the Tretiakov Gallery in Moscow.

Though I started drawing when I was 3 years old, this entertainment really fascinated me in the school years. I wanted to draw everything: people, nature, animals, flowers, and even illustrations to the read books. I managed to obtain the most interesting drawings after having watched TV transmissions “Club of film-travellers”.

In higher forms I took an interest in fashion, I was inventing various models of clothes and wanted to be a fashion designer. But in the textile institute I found out that there is a group for training artists-decorators. This speciality attracted me by the possibility of more full embodiment of creative imaginations, which influenced on my final decision.

It is really impossible to appreciate and to measure a huge influence of the parents. They, gifted and talented people, have always supported all my undertakings, helped me in staging of exhibitions. Among my friends there are a lot of well-known and talented artists, whose influence on my creative career is also great.

Some years ago a correspondent of a local newspaper wrote an article about me, which was entitled “Paintress in love with flowers”. That article reflected the result of my creative search, and this love to flowers, which was noticed by my associates, brought me to the shawl manufactory where I am working now.
