Artists

Artists create kroks. Krok is a pattern drawn on a map paper with gouache. Only the part of the pattern repeated in the scarf is represented: a quarter, half, less often the handkerchief can be drawn in full. The artist works on the pattern for two months. Pavlovo Posad tradition defines the basic techniques used by the artist uses when working on the krok.

Following the tradition not only does not shackle author’s creative imagination, but helps, using the vast experience accumulated by the artists of the enterprise, to create new, unique and always recognizable Pavlovo Posad shawls and kerchiefs.

Creative workshop is an indispensable school for young artists, where they learn the peculiarities and subtleties of the Pavlovo Posad style under the guidance of experienced masters. Among the enterprise artists, there are many laureates of various creative competitions, many of them are members of the Union of Artists and the Union of Designers of Russia.

On June 12, 2000, six enterprise artists, headed by director general V. S. Stulov, were awarded the «Tradition and Modernity on the Edge of Ages» State Prize of Russia for the shawl collection.

Currently, the art workshop is headed by Viktor Zubritsky, laureate of the I. Repin State Prize, laureate of the State Prize of Russia, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
